When I arrived in Amsterdam, I felt the burden of insecurity fall off my shoulders. I could be whoever I wanted to be, and it was SO GOOD. After a trip with Van Gough, I accidentally attended a free concert at the open-air stage in Vondelpark and watched a killer set from a group of funky individuals called The Cool Quest. Sat further in the park was a guy playing his guitar by a pool of water, and two ladies being read to UNDER A TREE BY A LOVELY LOOKING MAN, and tonnes of people on roller skates, and the air giving a perfect amount of warmth and breeze, and the DOGS… OH THE DOGS… SO MANY DOGS. It was sat in this very park where I thought to myself, ‘I belong in this city.’
Warm and High was written just a few weeks after I returned home from this holiday. The same week where I said to my mom, “I’M NOT GOING TO UNI ANYMORE. I’M MOVING TO AMSTERDAM.” She was like heck yea! Anyway, fast forward 2 years and I’m finally releasing the song, whilst finishing my second year of uni ;)! I really hope listening to the track lets you guys feel the love I have for this place and inspires you to travel and explore, and be daring, and say ‘yes’ to more things, and most importantly BE YOURSELF. EXPRESS YOURSELF. LOVE YOURSELF.
